Several years back I took Olivia, 6 years old back then, to her swim lesson. I, just like every other parent there, wanted her to have a positive experience and had my camera ready for her first official lesson! The room was filled with parents fuzzing over their children, just like me.
Shortly before it was Olivia's turn to get into the water I was trying to adjust and put on her swimming goggles - the water was already murky and who knows how much chlorine had to be pumped into that pool with all the kids constantly in it.
THIS was when the real frustration began. The swimming goggles had rubber straps that pulled on her hair and were impossible to adjust.
There really is no way to express the level of frustration parents experience trying to adjust and fit painful swim goggles on their already nervous kids faces. I could not believe how ridiculous this product was and looked around to see what other parents were doing. To my surprise they were all struggling with the same problem - the kids were getting cranky and the entire process became a chore rather than a fun experience.
Being the mad scientist inventor I am I went home that night, pulled out my old wetsuits and cut them up into small strips. I then sewed these small strips together to create the first prototype of a comfortable pair of swimming goggles that did not pull hair!
These first prototypes were not pretty but they most certainly were comfortable! My kids were such good troopers, wearing crazy looking early prototypes to the country club pool as well as swim lessons without one complaint!
Over the next few weeks I made hundreds of different versions, testing the fit and comfort until we found a design that worked quite well. My kids began wearing these new handmade prototypes to all swim events and parents were asking me where I got them - often I would offer to just make them a pair as they had saved my sanity and my kids eyes.
Everywhere we went people would ask us where we got those cool swim goggles and I always had to tell them that you could not buy them as I made them by hand. Well, in 2009 I finally filed for my provisional patent and later a full utility patent which was granted in 2013!
In 2013 I went with Olivia to the Grommet Product Launch competition (per their invitation) in Boston and we had to present our product in front of many important investors and live online. We were super nervous but ended up winning 2nd place!
Since then we have traveled all around the US presenting our product together :)
My passion is to help people, small and large, old and young, enjoy this amazing life we have been given, specifically to conquer the challenges associated with water safety. Life is too short to struggle with painful swimming goggles or lack of safe drinking water (more on that later). Kids are innocent and I will do anything I can do give them a good start in life so they can fearlessly explore their world.
71% of this world is covered by water:
Water Safety and Safe Water is my mission.

Place soft measuring tape around your child’s head about 1/2-inch above the ear, across the mid-forehead where a hat would sit. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly, and write down the measurement of where the tape meets. If you don’t have a soft measuring tape, use a piece of string and measure as directed. Then, lay the string on a ruler or yardstick to determine measurement.

Frogglez Goggles easily adjust to fit most kids. Kids can tighten or loosen without taking them off using the Velcro straps. Use the optional black silicone rings included with every pair of Frogglez to adjust even more.
Make Frogglez smaller: Remove the silicone rings for smaller children and thread the Velcro right through the goggles.
Make Frogglez bigger: Adding an extension ring is easy! Double up the rings to extend the strap length for bigger kids.
Frogglez Goggles use a soft silicone to create a leakproof seal. The gentle pressure of the seal is designed to withstand cannonballs, dives, and splashes. That said, eyes and noses are different sizes and shapes, which can affect the way goggles fit. There isn’t one perfect goggle, only the one that best fits your face. If you find that the eyepieces don’t fit, don’t fret. Frogglez universal strap attaches to most goggles on the market. The black silicone rings included with each pair of Frogglez makes attachment to other goggles simple.
Ordered the wrong size? No problem! Exchange your Frogglez Goggles within 60 days for a different size at no charge!
